What is a toy library?

A Toy library is a place you can visit on a regular basis to borrow toys to take home. All of the toys offered are good quality and include such items as puzzles, construction, role play, science and even larger outdoor equipment.

How do I become a subscriber?

You may download the subscription form below, you can then return this to us with your fee. Once subscribed, a card will be issued to you which needs to be produced when borrowing or returning items. If you are an individual subscriber you will be able to borrow two items for a two week period. If you have a group subscription you can borrow up to four items for four weeks.

What if something gets broken or lost?

If a part is missing from a borrowed toy we will ask you to hire it out for another two week at the normal hire charge. After that time if the part has not been found then we will, on a discretionary basis, ask for a contribution from you towards a replacement cost. This will vary because a part alone cannot always be replaced, it may have to be the complete item.

What are my responsibilities?

All toys and equipment are kept in a safe condition in the Toy Library. The Toy Library cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury resulting from the misuse of toys or equipment once it has been removed from the Library.

You are responsible for ensuring that toys and equipment are returned on the date due

What if I am late returning items?

You will be asked to pay overdue fees. The amount payable will be determined by the cost of hiring items and length of time overdue.

Can I bring children into the Toy Library?

Children are welcome in the Toy Library but carers must be responsible for the safety of their children. A catalogue of equipment is available for borrowers to view and select items from.
